ADAPT-RC v2010 limitation added

[3/19/2010] Minimum Reinforcement in ADAPT-RC v2010
When drop caps/panels or transverse beams are modeled in ADAPT-RC, the program considers the following:

Two-Way Slabs

(a) In the direction of span, if the drop or transverse beam dimension from support centerline to either side of support is greater than or equal to L/6, where ‘L’ is span length, the program will calculate minimum rebar based on the depth of drop or transverse beam. 

(b) In the direction of span, if the drop or transverse beam dimension from support centerline to either side of support is less than L/6,  the program will calculate minimum rebar based on the depth of slab.

One-Way Slabs

(a) In the direction of span, if the transvers beam dimension from support centerline to either side of support is greater than or equal to L/6, where ‘L’ is span length, the program will calculate minimum rebar based on the depth of transverse beam. 

(b) In the direction of span, if the transverse beam  dimension from support centerline to either side of support is less than L/6,  the program will calculate minimum rebar based on the depth of slab.

Note:  This is the intended behavior of the program and is not a program bug.
